Meowingtons!!

I have been listening to Deadmau5 the past few days so I decided why not do one of his album covers for my blog post. I love this album cover because of the imagery as well as the color choices. The font style has remained the same throughout all of his releases, which is great because the fans recognize that. The fonts color scheme ties in with the background colors. The black and green background colors work well with the mouse and cat because they too are black and green. Majority of the time Deadmau5 only includes a mouse on his covers, but this time he put his cat, Meowingtons, breaking through the mouse. This gave it a unique and personal feel. Overall great design because of the simplicity and imagery!

Got Time To Ketchup?

I really enjoy this ad that Heinz Ketchup did! They made it unique by making the bottle sliced into many pieces of tomato. This allows the viewer to move their eyes around the bottle instead of just seeing a perfect bottle. The slices of tomato is a great affect because it looks fresh and rich with flavor. Also having the bottle cap be the top of a tomato is clever. I also like how the ad used a toned down white font at the bottom instead of your basic white. The font is also in lower case, but Ketchup and Heinz (apart from No). Having those two words have capitals shows their importance. Furthermore, the toned down white and lowercase letters make it so the viewer looks right at the tomato slice bottle first.

Color Says A Lot

I chose this image for my blog post because it has to do with everyday life. I see at least twenty of these logos daily. I thought it was cool to see where each one stands. The yellows have many different businesses in its category because it shows that they are clear and understanding in what they are doing. Blue one the other hand has many companies that build machinery. You want to know that they are built to last a long time and that it is trust worthy. It is crazy to think that color can give us these feelings. The color red is energetic, whereas green is relaxing. I had a lot of fun looking at the differences between all of these famous logos.

Just Do It!

This image is for a Nike Ad. The purpose of this design is to promote Nike Tennis products. I definitely think that it was a success because it shows a tennis player with the rapid movements they must be able to do to accomplish their event. The ghost trails of the player’s actions indicate the explosive nature of the game. The angles at which the models are in show strength and determination for this sport. The pop in color in both pictures work great with the simple gray scale.  The typography is great because it is in all caps showing bold and toughness. Also having the type in the same pop of color as the athlete ties it all together.
